Co-founder / President

I am Paskal Glavinov, the co-founding President of The GreenHeart Trust, and a staunch believer in the self-preservation of our Earth and all the living creatures which dwell on her. I have a strong belief that our communities should be living in harmony with our environment and be striving toward self-sustainability. I'm a passionate advocate for the environment and I live what I preach by being a conscientious individual. As one who has both an innate and cultured awareness of my natural surrounds, I take great care to live in harmony with the environment.

I strongly believe that each individual has a right and responsibility to respect themselves, each other and the environment which sustains us. The heartbeat of mankind echoes throughout the ages and as a species, we leave traces of civilisation wherever we have been. This is inevitable and unavoidable, however, we as a united people can do our level best to ensure that we leave this world a better place than we found it, by ensuring that environmental concerns are paramount in our minds and our hearts. Working together, we can create a better tomorrow for generations to come.

I've made my career in the Supply Chain, starting in operational roles and moving through as a Business Analyst and Project Manager. I hold a Bachelor of Business in Marketing and International Trade from Victoria University. It's my educational background, practical business experience and passionate devotion to our environmental cause which led me to become the Co-Founder of The GreenHeart Trust. I'm uniquely positioned to govern this initiative into a strong and stable movement, one which will hopefully, spread globally as more and more people join the fight to sustain our beautiful planet.

In all respects, I endeavour to motivate and inspire people to further the just causes of social and to ensure the sustainability of our natural environment through personal achievements and united accomplishments.

Rose Sommerhalder

Co-founder & Vice President

I was born in the central tablelands of NSW. My parents raised my siblings and I in an off-grid, self-sufficient property in the Wollemi national park. Growing up, my parents taught us to respect nature and try to minimise our ecological foot print by living a simple and sustainable way. They taught us to be humble, to be open-mind and accepting, and the importance of staying connected with nature.

Thanks to my upbringing, these values have remained strong. I am also very excited by the creative potential in everyday waste items and make efforts to continually reduce my waste and use of resources.

I believe living a good life requires us all to adopt a universal responsibility to respect and care for our planet and all living beings. This can be as simple as picking up rubbish when you see it, not just ignoring the problem and waiting for someone else to do it.
I appreciate the opportunity to share my values, knowledge and green life skills with others.

I am a qualified Social Worker with a community health background; a qualified Art Therapist and a trained and practicing artist. GreenHeart is the culmination of my values, skills, knowledge and qualifications.

Hello; my name is Juliet Makin, thank you for visiting and exploring The GreenHeart Trust website.
My focusing belief in my life’s journey is to educate children, adults, communities and industry in nurturing mother earth and creating a harmonic environment where we all live in-tuned lives with ourselves, one another and mother earth.  I strongly believe that this is the only way to create a positive future for the next generations that will follow as protectors of our planet.
This belief and passion stems from a childhood of a strong connection with nature. I grew up in an off-grid home which my parents self-built in the Australian countryside of New South Wales and living a sustainable lifestyle.  My time was spent outdoors as a young adventurer, where my brothers and I would play and create games among the trees, hills, rivers and paddocks and animals. It is through this nature play I discovered the importance of nature connection and how strong a sense of belonging is to maintain our health and well-being for our own self growth and the support of one another.
Within my family, there is a strong ethos of personal growth and caring for your health and well-being through healthy eating, daily exercise, self-reflection, and connection to nature.
Growing up in this nurturing, creative space, highlighted the importance of utilizing art, music, dance, drama, handcrafts, mindfulness, awareness to transfer knowledge in a more meaningful process with the importance of exploring continued self-expression.
This creative environment nurtured by my parents spread out to an established supportive network of collaborative family, friends and wider community who shared. in one another’s knowledge, joy and passions to live in a harmonious way with one another and our natural and surrounding environment. This value continues to show me how vital it is for us to belong in a supportive and caring community where we can share our skills and knowledge with one another. I believe the giving of your time and truly acknowledging one another as the being they are and not what they do, creates a continued safe and supportive learning environment.
As a Primary School Teacher for the past 7 years, I have experienced teaching children in Australian cities and countryside and in London, UK. Teaching in a busy city of London, I witnessed how a disconnection from nature among children and adults also created a disconnection to themselves and the wider community. Soon after I found myself teaching as a sustainable educator in an environmental education center in Australia. At this school, I was able to combine both my passions of nature and education. I love that my profession allows me to inspire children to inquire about the world around them by asking questions and learning how to problem solve in a harmonious way with one another. I find it extremely rewarding to encourage an innocent mind to explore the limitless possibilities that life may offer When you embrace being vulnerable in life learning and self-growth you become more whole hearten and true to who you are and what you believe. You open yourself up for mistakes and life lessons to occur naturally.
The past 4 years I have been travelling through the UK, Europe and Australia, exploring different cultures and landscapes. A time for me to feel such incredible freedom as a young woman, for exploring self-healing and becoming culturally sensitive to traditional ways in which people live harmoniously in communities and nature. In this time, I have walked on three separate occasions as a pilgrim on the Camino de Santiago de Compostela through Spain and Portugal. This has allowed me to live a minimalist and plastic free lifestyle whilst travelling and in daily life. It also reminded me how strongly I connect to creating life long memories and experiences, rather than collecting materialistic objects. Because of my travelling and pilgrimage, I have grown into being a motivational change leader who creates a vision of a sustainable future.

My journey to GreenHeart started off as child, growing up with the National Park at my backdoor I had nature at my fingertips. Whether it was walks, playing, building cubby houses or even using the bush as a place to relax or go to when home life was trouble. I spent so much time in nature that I came to feel the effects of what I can only describe as my sanctuary. I knew at an early age the harmony and calmness you only get when you let go and submerge yourself into nature.

Unfortunately as a child and throughout my youth I was unable to keep the calmness I brought home from the bush and implement it into my daily life. Although I grew up in the heart of the Kinglake Ranges, I also spent an equal amount of time at the highest level of dance. Competition, passion and the utter drive for excellence became my creed. While none of theses emotions are bad for you, live by them for years and you will have a ego the size of Antarctica. When others were cruel I learnt to lash back out, hide behind a mask and became self-serving and self important because if you don’t take control you get left behind. My trust was broken so many times that I came to expect betrayal as normal. ‘Wining is Everything’ and if you can’t cut your spot in the world of ambition it will spit you out.

With maturity I came to see as I have lived both the beauty and ugliness of society. I yearned for the peace I found in the bush as a child and started to reject and balance those higher emotions of my youth. With clarity came knowledge and a responsibility to the earth. Greed and ego is running our society to ruin while misleading us with distractions of wanting. Without nature there is no community and many of us have either forgotten or never allowed ourselves to live with nature in the first place.

Green Heart represents change, a needle in a growing awareness throughout the world. We can no longer ignore the damage we are not only doing to ourselves but to the world with live in. It is my mission to bridge the gap between nature and society and push for a more sustainable network to take place within communities at a higher level.

Understanding nature saved me from myself in my youth then why would it not help an entire community. As a mother I want the best for my son. A community working together for the betterment of that community is a place where you can raise healthy balanced children who may go on to be incredible humane leaders of tomorrow.
